Detective Jake Peralta has never had to handle responsibility while on the job. Of course, he knows how to keep himself and his partner safe while they re out of the office, but once he gets back behind his desk, it s as if he overly relishes the idea of being silly and immature as a form of blowing off steam. It helps that he s always had captains who look the other way or who don t have the confidence to stand up to a detective with such an exalted record, but on the series premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, from Parks and Recreation executive producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, it looks like play time is over, as there s a new captain at the 99th and he s ready to make everyone including Peralta work. As expected, Jake doesn t take to the idea of having to be more professional around the office and immediately clashes with Captain Ray Holt, testing the boundaries of his new superior and trying to figure out just how much he can get away.
